U21 South Delta Storm win provincial banner

The Storm went 24-8-4 during the season with an impressive 8-0 record through the playoffs

The South Delta Storm U21 A team clinched the BC Hockey Tier 1 Provincial Championship banner on March 16 with a 6-4 win over the North Delta Sun Devils at Sungod Arena.

The Storm won the best-of-three series after winning the night before at the Ladner Leisure Centre.

This is the first time in more than 20 years that a U21 A team from the South Delta Minor Hockey Association has won a provincial title.

Third year player and captain Jackson Marriott was named Player of the Game in the series clinching win ending a great season and career with the Storm.

Owen Venier also netted a hat trick in the win. Goaltender Joshua Huehn played great in the two wins, along with graduating players Jayden Thulin, Beckett Lee, Ryan Hughes and Dylan Dyer.

The team, coached by Craig Labelle, also brought home the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey League banner, the playoff banner, and a team achievement banner for sportsmanship. This is a first for a South Delta team.

The Storm roster consists of: Tyler Allan, Jacob Bailie, Diarmuid Bostock, Ryan Carleton, Dylan Dyer, Joshua Huehn, Ryan Hughes, Jake Jones, Max Kidds-Brodie, Beckett Lee, Jackson Marriott, Lucas Nobbs, Mason Roberts, Drew Robson, Lane Sharpe, Kai Sloan, Declan Speiran, Jayden Thulin and Owen Venier.
