The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at British Columbia Women's Association, in celebration of its 50th year in Canada, invites women of Delta to attend an event in which they focus on the role of Ahmadiyya Muslim women in establishing and promoting peace within our communities.

The event will focus on women in Islam and the integral role the founder of Islam, the Holy Prophet, played in furthering women's rights.

Unique to this event is a multimedia presentation highlighting some of the achievements of Muslim women in various fields. Furthermore, in celebration of the 50th year in Canada, a special booth highlighting the various highlights and achievements will be showcased. The Women in Islam event is set for Sunday, Nov. 20 at the Baitur Rahman Mosque, 9570 River Rd., Delta. Registration is at 1:30 p.m. with the program starting at 2 p.m. The ladies-only event is free and refreshments will be served.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at is a dynamic, fastgrowing international revival movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community spans more than 200 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at is the only Islamic organization to believe the long-awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian, India. The community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice and peace.
