Arguably the greatest player to ever come out of South Delta Secondary School has been inducted into the B.C. Football Hall of Fame.

Harald Hasselbach was one of five athletes in the 2016 class. He did not attend the induction ceremony but was represented by his former coach at South Delta - Ron Uyeyama.

Born in Amsterdam and raised in Tsawwassen, Hasselbach was a force for the Sun Devils before taking his career to the University of Washington. The defensive end was then selected in the 1989 CFL Draft by the Calgary Stampeders where he played for four seasons and was a league all-star in 1993.

Hasselbach signed with the NFL's Denver Broncos in 1994 and enjoyed seven solid seasons - highlighted by back-to-back Super Bowl wins in 1998-99.

His best campaign in Denver was in 1995 when he started in 10 games and registered four quarterback sacks.
