Let’s head back to April 1961 when four students from two Delta high schools competed on the “Reach for the Top” show on CBUT.
Carol Sorenson (left) Morris Mennell (far right) of North Delta High School were joined by Ken Anderson and Susan Hamilton of Ladner High School to answer tough questions.
The Delta team was beaten by Burnaby in a close contest. The Burnaby team would end up winning the local championship that year.
Alex Trebek for a time hosted the Toronto version of the quiz show.
CBC stopped airing the show in 1985 but versions continued to be aired elsewhere.
