A fun and glorious concert is offered by the Delta Music Makers Concert Band, with two opportunities to enjoy Christmas music this holiday season.
The first concert is on Tuesday night, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ladner Community Centre with the second concert on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. at KinVillage in Tsawwassen.
Audiences will hear Christmas classics by composers such as LeRoy Anderson, Johann Strauss, Richard Saucedo, and the Canadian Brass.
“This spectacular concert will feature exciting big-band sounds, solos, audience participation, and a surprise child singer,” said conductor Curt Jantzen.
Entry fee for both concerts are by donation: non-perishable food bank donations for the Dec. 3 concert and a monetary collection at the door for the Dec. 7 concert.
“We are also performing on Nov. 30 at Delta Hospital Extended Care, but that audience is limited to only residents and their relatives,” added Jantzen.
This busy concert band, based in Ladner, recently completed a July performance cruise to towns in Alaska, including Juneau, Ketchikan, and Icy Strait Point.
The band has openings for trombones and French horns, starting in January.
They rehearse on Tuesday evenings at Delta Secondary.
