The globetrotting Magee Chamber Choir and String Orchestra from Magee Secondary School in Vancouver will be performing at Ladner United Church.
All are welcome this Sunday, April 2 at 3 p.m. for the next concert in the popular Sunday@3 Concert Series.
The senior level ensembles are dedicated to creating music at a very high level of artistry in a variety of styles and genres. They will be accompanied by their award winning music director Greg Quan.
The Magee Chamber Choir is one of five choirs at Magee Secondary.
This auditioned ensemble, composed of senior level students, are dedicated to creating music at a very high level of choral artistry in a variety of styles and genres. In addition to being in the Chamber Choir, each member of the group is involved in at least three other ensembles including the large 120 voice Concert Choir, a small Vocal Ensemble, and either a men’s or ladies ensemble, all directed by Quan. Some members are also involved with the band program, directed by Keith Ollerenshaw, and/or our orchestra program, also directed by Quan.
Some highlights of their adventures include performance tours all over Europe, Japan, Russia, and Cuba, and in 2019 they went to share music in Finland, Estonia, and Latvia.
They also have produced and released seven CDs.
Tickets for Sunday’s show are $10 (cash only) at the door.
