Nov. 13, 6700 Block of Chateau Wynd: Police advised of a break-in to the community mailbox. Police attended and found most of the mailboxes insecure. It appeared a tool had been used to punch/pry the locks of individual mailboxes. It was not known when the incident occurred or if any mail was stolen. Canada Post was advised of the incident and an employee was dispatched for repairs. Police canvassed the area with negative results.
Nov. 13, 8900 Block of 113A Street: Complainant reported their vehicle parked on the street was stolen. Police attended and were advised that all the keys were accounted for and there were no suspects, witnesses, or surveillance video. The vehicle was located by police, parked with the windows and sunroof open to the elements thus finger printing was not possible. The vehicle was towed to the owner’s residence.
Nov. 17, 120th Street and Highway 10: Police observed a vehicle entering the highway at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was followed by police, which was clocked travelling 160 km/h in a posted 70 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver indicated they were speeding as they were late for work. The driver was given an immediate three-day roadside prohibition and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver was picked up by a family member.
Nov. 17, 5800 Block of 60th Avenue: Police conducting a roadblock spoke with a driver and detected an odour of liquor on their breath. The driver provided two breath samples, both reading warn. The driver was given a three-day immediate roadside prohibition and their driver’s licence seized. The vehicle was parked legally. The driver was then taken home by a friend.
Nov. 17, 10400 Block of River Road: Police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle. The driver admitted to consuming liquor and provided police with two breath samples. Both samples read fail. As a result, the driver was given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene, and the driver left the area by Uber.
