Logan Schuss has had a leading role in the Vancouver Warriors surge up the National Lacrosse League’s Western Conference standings.
The 31-year-old from Ladner has 15 points in his last three games as the Warriors now sit at 5-3 thanks to wins this month over Panther City (17-11), Saskatchewan Rush (13-7) and the Calgary Roughnecks (11-10). Vancouver will look to extend its win streak Saturday night in Fort Worth against Panther City.
Schuss’ output couldn’t have come at a better time as Delta teammate and good friend Mitch Jones remains sidelined indefinitely with a broken foot. Jones had 26 points, including 12 goals, in just four games when he went on the injured list.
Schuss had a hat trick and six points in the win over Saskatchewan and followed up that performance with a pair of goals and four points in the victory last weekend at Calgary. He now has 27 points on the season in seven games.
Following their trip to Texas, Vancouver heads to Halifax March 5 to take on the Thunderbirds and then are in Toronto a week later to face the Rock.
The Warriors won’t be back at Rogers Arena until March 25 to take on San Diego.
