Want your own licensed cannabis facility? Got $11.7 million you’re willing to spend?
Now you can own your own 25,000-square foot facility on Annacis Island federally licensed for the cultivation, processing and sale of medical cannabis.
Currently owned by Zenabis and listed for sale by Colliers, the facility in the 1600-block of Fosters Way was the first cannabis facility in an industrial zone approved by the City of Delta.
The now closed facility also had an application with Health Canada to expand its license to include analytics testing within a newly constructed laboratory, and also has new oil extraction equipment available at an additional cost.
“Operated until late 2019, the Vendor made the corporate decision to consolidate their operations within one of their larger facilities in Metro Vancouver, and to divest of their Annacis operation,” the sales listing states.
“Although the facility was utilized primarily for cultivation, the intent was to operate the facility for processing and third-party analytical testing in addition to internal analytical testing for the Vendor's larger global organization.”
The listing notes the asking price was recently reduced by $1 million.
Earlier this year, a large scale cannabis greenhouse operation in East Ladner, called BC Tweed, abruptly shut down its operation.
The 1.7-million-square-foot greenhouse on Hornby Drive, along with another greenhouse facility in Langley that also closed, was operated by Canopy Growth, but closed in a massive company cost-cutting move.
Meanwhile, another large-scale East Ladner cannabis greenhouse, Propagation Services Canada, had a more optimistic announcement this week, saying it expects to move its first harvest later this year with the first product available for sale on a wholesale basis beginning next year.
The venture says it expects to yield up to 44 varieties of strains to offer the company’s wholesale clients “a robust product offering while maintaining strong cannabinoid and terpene content plant yield and crops per year.”
The Houweling greenhouse on 64th Street partnered with AgraFlora Organics International Inc. to create the new entity Propagation Services Canada Inc.
“The team has been doing a great transition from tomato cultivation to cannabis,” stated Ruben Houweling, general manager of Houweling Nurseries, in a news release.
“Our preparation has paid off and we have had great results this summer in plant health and scale up. We are getting ready to start our first flowering cycles this fall.”
