The holidays remind us of the importance of kindness, generosity and supporting those in need. It’s a time to reflect on the past year, look ahead to the future and express gratitude for those closest to us.
These local Delta organizations go above and beyond to ensure that community members are safe, considered and cared for, relying on the generosity of donors to continuously support their work. This holiday season, consider contributing to one or multiple of these worthy causes that serve the foundation of our community.
KinVillage
KinVillage is dedicated to offering seniors a safe, vibrant and supportive environment where they can stay engaged and active. Through the Day Program for Older Adults, they create a space where seniors feel valued, while providing caregivers the respite they need, knowing their loved ones are cared for.
This holiday season, the community is invited to help bring the new Day Program space to life. Generous donations will fund essential resources for the program, creating a vibrant, supportive environment for seniors and providing respite for caregivers.
As part of the It Takes A Village campaign, KinVillage is raising $3 million to build a new space for the Day Program, ensuring seniors have a place to thrive. Every gift, no matter the size, will have a lasting impact on the lives of those who have given so much to the community.

With a focus on healthy families and positive relationships, Deltassist provides a warm, safe environment for all. Their commitment to making a difference is driven by a dedicated team of professionals and volunteers, all working together to enrich lives in the community.
Last year, Deltassist helped 1,976 individuals and children receive toys and food for the holidays. This year, with the rising cost of living and inflation, the demand for their Christmas program is expected to increase as more families face financial struggles. Reach Child and Youth Development Society
Reach Child and Youth Development Society is dedicated to helping children with extra needs achieve their full potential. Since 1959, Reach has been providing timely, accessible, and supportive community programs for families across Delta, Surrey and Langley, fostering optimal development and well-being for children, youth and adults alike. With a focus on recognizing each child’s strengths and abilities, Reach empowers families and helps over 1,300 children thrive annually, ensuring that all individuals flourish in a caring and nurturing environment.
Their Gift of Speech 2024 campaign is raising funds to provide therapy sessions that help children develop essential communication skills and gifts will be matched up to $10,000 by an anonymous donor. This year, they shared the progress of four-year-old Arabella, pictured with Reach Speech-Language Pathologist Kim and her mother Janelle. Janelle credits Reach, saying, “Arabella wouldn’t be where she is today without speech therapy.” Early intervention is crucial, as most speech and language development occurs by age six, and Reach equips families with strategies to support their children.

Boys and Girls Club
For over 85 years, BGC South Coast BC (BGC) has been a beacon of support and opportunity for children and youth, offering them a safe and welcoming space to thrive outside of school and home.
When kids visit BGC, they are seen and heard for who they truly are. At the neighbourhood Clubs, BGC provides kids with a safe space to belong when they aren't at home or school. For youth, their Club feels like a place to hang out with friends and make new ones. But it’s much more than that. When kids visit Club, they spend time developing the skills they need to grow into amazing adults—skills like healthy living habits, a lifelong love for learning and the ability to build healthy, lasting relationships. Over their time at BGC, these children come to believe in what makes them amazing, just as BGC does.
BGC’s programs are self-funded. This holiday season, every donation helps provide opportunities for kids and youth that they might not otherwise have.
Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation

Donations made before December 31 will be matched by Chemposite Inc., doubling the impact of your contribution. Additionally, your support will help the Foundation reach its goal of building a state-of-the-art 200-bed facility for Delta’s seniors, a project that will provide them with a safe, dignified place to call home. Your donation is a meaningful way to make a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
