"At Dulux Paints, we're really excited to be partnering with the Make-A-Wish Canada organization," says Deborah Tuck, Store Manager of Dulux Paints Tsawwassen.
As part of the partnership, Dulux Paints works with Make-A-Wish to help transform spaces for kids into whatever the children imagine. For example, bedrooms can become castles in the clouds or a playroom can be transformed into a jungle hideaway.
"The kids are only limited by their imagination," Deborah laughs. "We find that the wish-kids are constantly coming up with new and creative design ideas and Dulux Paints help make it happen."
Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has been serving children in nearly 50 countries on five continents. With the help of donors and partners like Dulux Paints and more than 32,000 volunteers worldwide, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 350,000 wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions around the globe.
The first Canadian chapter of Make-A-Wish was established in 1983. Since then, the organization has helped grant more than 6,200 wishes across Canada.
"Our colour experts have come up with 20 paint palettes specifically for Make-A-Wish," Deborah explains. "The Make-A-Wish kids can also come up with their own unique paint colour pairings from the Dulux palette to create the space of their dreams."
Dulux provides the paint and painting accessories at a special pricing to Make-A-Wish to help the organization make the children's wishes come true.
Other community partnerships include collaboration with the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) to offer members discounts on paints and supplies.
"Until December 24, 2016," says Deborah, "CAA members can get 50% off the cost of manufactured paint. Because of our partnership with CAA, their members can always get 25% off manufactured paint and 10% off tools and applicators."
