The Vancouver Canucks captain, Bo Horvat, has been placed in COVID-19 protocol.
The team made the announcement Tuesday morning, Jan. 18. The Canucks are currently on a five-game road trip in the southeastern USA, with a game Tuesday night in Nashville.
The NHL's COVID-19 protocol requires players to quarantine five days, after which a player can leave the protocol with a negative test. Horvat will miss at least two games (the Nashville game and a game against the Florida Panthers on Friday, Jan. 21, in Vancouver). If he gets a negative after five days he'll be able to return to the team for their home game on Jan. 23 against the St. Louis Blues.
A number of Canucks have recently gone through the protocol; Elias Pettersson returned to the team Sunday after a stint. Most recently, forward Connor Garland was placed on the protocol list on Jan. 16.
