With opening day just over three weeks away, Whistler Blackcomb is revving up the hype machine with some fresh photos from up the mountains.
According to a release from the mountain operator, WB has received "upwards of 80 cm of new snow in high-alpine terrain" in the past 72 hours.
"Powder days are just around the corner and we’re already feeling the stoke!" the release said.
"With temperatures dropping fast, our snowmaking team has been working around the clock since Oct. 16, as conditions permit, to pump out the fluffy stuff. To date, we’ve made the equivalent of 15 football fields’ worth of snow, measuring a foot in depth. The season is just around the corner, and we can’t wait for the lifts to start spinning. In just 25 days, Whistler Blackcomb will open for skiing and riding on Nov. 22, pending conditions."
Photos from the WB mountain ops team show the current state of things in the alpine.
"As a reminder, Epic Passes are on sale now, which allow you to ski and ride Whistler Blackcomb for less," the release said. "Whether you plan to come one day or every day, there is a pass for everyone—even the occasional skier or rider. View all Epic Passes, including regional options, on whistlerblackcomb.com or epicpass.com before prices rise on Nov. 17."
