KELOWNA, B.C. — Mounties in Kelowna say they are working to recover the body of a man who drowned in Okanagan Lake early Saturday morning.

They say officers, alongside Central Okanagan Search and Rescue and the Kelowna Fire Department, responded to a report of the drowning near the Kelowna Downtown Marina around 4:30 a.m.

Police say first responders were unable to recover the man's body and were still waiting for the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team around mid-morning.

They say the cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but it does not appear suspicious.

The man's name and age were not immediately released.

Mounties say they are still investigating and have not yet confirmed the identity of the man.
