A Vancouver man who was released three times on various charges of assault, theft, making threats against people and resisting arrest is back behind bars.
In one incident, Best Prince, 23, was arrested on the University Endowment Lands for allegedly violating the sole condition on a release order — not to be on the University Endowment Lands.
The charges go back to March 13 when Prince was charged with theft under $5,000 for allegedly stealing two bags of food from UBC’s Walter Gage Student Residence. He was also charged on that date with uttering a threat to cause death or bodily hard to a man as well as resisting arrest.
In connection with Sept. 14 incidents, Prince is charged with committing an assault while carrying a weapon, and with uttering a threat to cause death or bodily hard to two people.
Court documents said he was charged with failing to comply with a court release order for allegedly being on the University Endowment Lands Sept. 20.
And in connection with a Sept. 23 incident, he is charged with theft under $5,000 in connection with alleged theft of merchandise from Superstore.
He was released Aug. 2 and Aug. 24. On Sept. 21, he was ordered as part of bail conditions to undergo a psychiatric assessment a directed by a bail supervisor.
Prince was due before Vancouver Provincial Court Judge Jennifer Oulton Sept. 26. He was in custody awaiting that appearance.
He's due back in court for arraignment on charges Oct. 5.
