The federal conservative party has announced that they will be postponing their upcoming tour of British Columbia due to the wildfire situation in the province.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre was expected to make an appearance on Vancouver Island Monday for a “Bring it Home” rally at the Campbell River Sportsplex.

The rally has since been postponed, with plans to reschedule in the coming months.

“Our thoughts are with all the people who have had to flee their homes,” Sebastian Skamski, a spokesperson for Pollievre, said in a statement Saturday. “Our priorities are to support British Columbians fighting these devastating wildfires.”
