Is this your vehicle? Police looking for driver in missing B.C. grandma case

Investigators have obtained video surveillance footage of the missing grandmother's vehicle.

Police are looking to speak with a driver who might have vital information in the ongoing case of a missing B.C. grandmother.

Jane Whitehouse, 82, was reported missing on Oct. 25. The last time she was seen was at 10:10 a.m. in Aldergrove, B.C.

Her vehicle, a grey Dodge Grand Caravan with the license plate CP6 01A, was later found about 150 kilometres away abandoned on a dirt road near Harrison Lake.

Langley RCMP has now revealed video surveillance of Whitehouse’s vehicle travelling on Hicks Lake Road on Oct. 25 at 4:10 p.m.

In it, the missing woman's vehicle is seen driving in one direction. A few second later, the driver of a white Mercedes SUV drives down the road in the opposite direction. Police officers say they want to speak with that driver.

“We are releasing the photograph of the white Mercedes SUV with the hopes of having the driver come forward and speak with our investigators,” said Cpl. Zynal Sharoom.

Family asks locals to search properties

Whitehouse's vehicle was found abandoned on Harrison East Forest Service Road, which runs along the east side of Harrison Lake, on Oct. 27.

A man who was in the area at the time came across her vehicle. He called the police and the search for the woman began.

Kent Harrison Search and Rescue and Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue members spent three days searching for any sign of her. Both of the woman's shoes were found in the area, but crews could not locate the Whitehouse.

Langley RCMP Cpl. Craig van Herk confirmed the ground search wrapped up on Wednesday, but that the police investigation is still "very much" ongoing and active.

Whitehouse's family has asked property owners in Harrison Lake to check their farms, acreages and homesteads for any sign of her.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Whitehouse is urged to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
