Halloween might just barely be over, but Earthwise Society is already looking ahead to the next holiday season.

This fall, Earthwise encouraged people to get creative with a series of interactive, informative and artistic workshops using the Earthwise Garden as both inspiration and backdrop. This learning series was so popular that Earthwise has decided to continue the workshops into November, this time with a focus on the holidays.

The first November workshop, “Herbal Harvest,” on Wednesday, Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to noon, will delve into the exciting and flavourful world of herbs.

Participants will discover the best herbs to grow in their gardens, how to dry them, and many different ways to use them. Fresh herbs will be harvested directly from the Earthwise Garden to be dried at home, and some will be used to make potpourri and herbal linen spray. Each person will go home with a bag of potpourri and a small bottle of linen spray!

The second November workshop, “Herbal Spa Day,” on Wednesday, Nov 10 from 1 to 2 p.m., will provide participants with everything they could possibly need for a relaxing at-home spa day. Guests will learn how to make relaxing herbal bath salts, beeswax candles, and herbal infused oils using herbs fresh from the Earthwise Garden. Take them home and treat yourself to a well-deserved spa day, or give them as gifts. All participants will take home a jar of bath salts, two beeswax candles, and a small container of herbal salve.

The final November workshop, “Jolly Christmas Centerpieces” on Thursday, Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to noon, will help you bring the holiday season to your dining table. Participants will gather in the Earthwise Garden, play some seasonal garden trivia games, and create stunning holiday-themed centerpieces using fresh flowers, sprigs, and berries from the Earthwise Garden.

For those concerned about the weather, the November Learn in the Garden Workshops will take place under the protection of the Earthwise Gazebo and will run rain or shine! Spots do fill up quickly, and registration is required.
