A new, one-of-a-kind opportunity to support the future of long-term care in the community takes place this August.
The inaugural ‘Supper at Sunset’ fundraising dinner will be held on Tsawwassen First Nation boardwalk Aug. 22. The unique outdoor fundraising event will be part of the Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation ‘Coming Home’ capital campaign for the new Beedie Long-Term Care Centre, the largest fundraising campaign in the Foundation’s 35-year history.
‘Supper at Sunset’ will see 250 guests enjoy an elegant long-table dinner and entertainment. The creator of the event is John Gross, the founder and CEO of Peak Products, who is also a Tsawwassen resident. Peak Products is one of Canada’s leading home renovation products manufacturers, and Gross and his wife Rose have been generous donors to health care facilities and foundations throughout the Lower Mainland for nearly two decades.
“On behalf of our board, staff and volunteers, I want thank John and Peak Products for creating and covering all costs for this event,” said Pam Paton, Chair, DHCH Foundation. “I also want to thank the Tsawwassen First Nation for so graciously hosting us at this one-of-a-kind setting. Delta’s seniors are the very heart of our community, and this event will make a significant contribution to ensuring our seniors have a welcoming and supportive place to call home.”
Serving as honourary chair for the inaugural ‘Supper at Sunset’ is Delta resident Simon Walker, the Executive Vice President of Peak Products. With Peak Products covering all administrative and supplier costs for the event, every dollar raised through the event’s ticket sales and raffles will go directly to the construction of the Beedie Long-Term Care Centre.
Also playing a key role in the creation of the event is the Tsawwassen First Nation, who has donated the use of the boardwalk for the event, with TFN businesses also providing support services.
