B.C. Hydro’s Power Smarts for Kids program offers many interesting resources and activities for school-aged children.
Teresa Oakley, education assistant, at Neilson Grove Elementary in Ladner, involved the school’s Green Team in the program by participating in a special four-week challenge in March.
The school’s Green Team won the draw for the grand prize, which included pencil pouches, jersey towels, and water bottles. Best of all, it gave students the opportunity to participate in a virtual presentation by Dave, the BC Hydro guy, and the BC Hydro Community Team.
Green Team students from Grades 4, 5 and 6 took part in a Zoom call last week and were thrilled to meet their ‘green hero’, Dave, the BC Hydro guy!
