Join others throughout the Metro Vancouver Regional District who are participating in the City Nature Challenge from April 26 to 29.
This challenge has become an annual event that happens simultaneously on the same dates around the world. It started with only two cities in 2016 but has grown to more than 480 global cities.
Help us record as many wild plants and animals as possible throughout the district on land, in the air and in our marine environments - birds, bugs, molluscs, trees, shrubs, fungi and more.
All you need to do is:
• Download iNaturalist to your iPhone or Android phone or your home computer
• Make an observation using photos or sound recordings from April 26 to 29.
Observations can be uploaded directly to iNaturalist through your phone or uploaded from your computer until May 5. Your observations will be verified by other citizen scientists and specialists from all around the world. All observations on those dates will become part of the project. Results will be announced on May 6.
You can join the project and follow the results here: https://inaturalist.ca/projects/city-nature-challenge-2024-metro-vancouver-regional-district-mvrd
