An event is planned in Point Roberts next month to mark World Interfaith Harmony Week.
The week is designated by the United Nations and falls annually on the first week of February. The initiative aims to promote harmony between all people regardless of their faith. The event in Point Roberts will be a chance to "spend some time talking about how we have and can promote unity and peace in our area and in our world," notes Dorothy Gurney, one of the organizers.
The event is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Point Roberts Community Center, 1487 Gulf Rd.
Contact Gurney at [email protected] or Bev Mar at [email protected] if you're unable to attend but would like to be added to an email list.
