The Delta Seniors Bus program is a free transportation service for seniors 65-plus living in Delta.

The City of Delta’s seniors bus is moving once again and Delta is encouraging seniors who need a ride to get in touch.

The Delta Seniors Bus program is a free transportation service for seniors 65-plus living in Delta. The bus makes curbside stops to pick up and drop off seniors who have booked the service. It offers easy access to local medical services, appointments, recreation centres, shopping locations, and other community amenities within Delta. You can even take the Delta Seniors Bus to visit friends in Delta.

Seniors must be able to embark and disembark the bus independently. The bus has several seats and room for walkers, wheelchairs and scooters, and is equipped with an automatic lift. Registration is required prior to using the service.

The service is offered Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Book a ride by calling 604-597-4876.

The service was made possible in part by an Age-Friendly Grant, a partnership between the Government of B.C. and the Union of British Columbia Municipalities.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Delta council is set to award a contract to Dynamic Specialty Vehicles Ltd. for a 24-month lease of a paratransit bus for a totol of $65,000.

This bus will be added to the Delta seniors bus fleet.

Delta initially launched the North Delta Seniors Bus program in 2013 with one, 16-passenger, and wheelchair accessible bus.

In 2015, a second bus was added to the fleet to operate in South Delta.

The program proved to be so successful, that a third bus was added to the fleet in 2018.
