What's going on at the Ladner Pioneer Library this week?

It’s the Year of the Dragon at the Ladner Pioneer Library.

Join library staff on Monday, Feb. 5, from 3:15 to 4 p.m. for Lunar New Year Story and Craft. Bring in the Lunar New Year at the library with a dragon story and paper crafts. This event is suitable for ages six to 10. Registration required.

Valentine’s Day is coming up, so on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 3:15 to 4 p.m., let’s get crafty and create cards to share this Valentine’s Day.

It's never too early to begin learning logic and coding.

Register for Doggy Days with Cubetto on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 1 to 2 p.m. Cubetto is a friendly wooden robot that teaches the basics of computer programming through stories and activities. Come and transform Cubetto into a puppy and then learn to program him to go on a doggy adventure. This program is suitable for ages three to five and their families.

Seniors can join the monthly Seniors Social at the Ladner Pioneer Library on Fridays, Feb. 9, March 8 and April 12, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Meet new friends as the group explores art activities, board games, FVRL Playground items, and book recommendations. Refreshments and snacks provided. Registration is required.

Do you like poetry or want to explore it more? Check out Introduction to Poetry Workshop, on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., at McKee Seniors Recreation Centre. Participants will read poems, learn about different styles of poems, and even write their own poems if they feel comfortable doing so. Please bring a poem that you enjoy sharing with the group.

All supplies are provided. This program is suitable for ages five and up.

There is something to do every day of the week at the Tsawwassen Library.
