The Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society celebrated the presentation of $10,000 in bursaries for students and staff this week.

Manraj Bains, Stephanie Cooper, Blake Knoll, Mahnuma Neaha, Harjot Uppal, Cassidy Swenson and Della Gallagher were this year’s recipients.

This marks the 22nd year the society has awarded bursaries to students residing in Delta who are continuing or pursuing studies in the healthcare field. Hospital staff members receive bursaries for upgrading their skills.

Since its inception in 1969, the Delta Hospital Auxiliary has grown to approximately 500 volunteers who contributed almost 100,000 hours of volunteer service in 2017.

The society has contributed over $20 million to Delta Hospital, funding many progressive changes and the purchase of leading-edge medical equipment and services.

This year the society reached its target of contributing $2.4 million for the diagnostics building now under construction.
