Hebrews 11:6 (NLT): “It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”
If God exists, and I, of course, believe He does, we cannot make up what He is like or what we want Him to be like. He is who He is.
I am 5’9” tall. Actually, I have shrunk about half an inch. I just don’t like to admit it. I’m 63 years old. I have short reddish blond hair and a goatee that used to be quite red but is now mostly grey. I am an avid amateur photographer and I love being outside taking landscapes.
I have been married to my awesome wife, Ruth for more than 37 years. We enjoy walking and going on bike rides together. We also enjoy playing board games with each other and with friends.
There is much more to my story than those minor details. If you want to get to know me more, you would need to seek me out and spend some time with me probing me for more of my story. I am who I am. I cannot be who you want me to be.
It’s the same with God. He is who He is. I cannot make up who I want God to be anymore than I can make up who you are. You are who you are, not who I wish you were. God is who He is, and the Bible says that if we really want to get to know Him He will reveal Himself to us. God is good. He is love, and so much more. He created us to be in relationship with Him and wants us to know Him.
