As we approach 2023 a good question to ask your self is: what do I want?
This is a tricky question because usually there are three motivational thoughts guiding that answer. I want it now, I want it my way, and I want it to be pleasurable. The idea that we have to wait or work for it is not pleasing to us and causes us to change our wants and adapt to what is easy, quick and satisfying.
The Bible is God’s word and I love it because it is God’s manual for us on how we are to live our lives. It reveals how to get the most out of life, what life will bring across your path and how to navigate through it. It's a life guide, a manual, based on a relationship with God. And even if you don't believe in God, the principles we find in His word will work.
For example, Galatians 5 says, But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard — things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity.
We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.
To live God’s way in 2023, means things like dedication, hard work and perseverance become part of us. It means we must embrace humility, kindness, grace, love, and forgiveness. Imagine a year filled with those qualities?
It also means that there is a standard for morality and truth, and I truly believe you will never get what you really want in life until you do things God’s way. Not because He is withholding anything from you, but because you are withholding it from yourself.
Change your life and apply Gods principles. You will never regret it.
