Delta filmmakers to pitch diverse, original Canadian films

British Columbia Pictures are travelling to the influential American Film Market

South Delta filmmakers Pale Thomas and Daniel Joseph of British Columbia Pictures are travelling to the influential American Film Market (AFM) to not only network with key executives to pitch their original Canadian projects, but to also highlight the rich cultural tapestry of B.C. and Canada.

“We are committed to fostering diverse voices, embracing new technologies and pushing the boundaries of storytelling to deliver high-quality content across all platforms,” says Thomas, CEO of British Columbia Pictures. “Our focus is on developing original, engaging Canadian projects that capture the essence of the human experience and reflect the rich cultural tapestry of British Columbia and Canada.”

Thomas and Joseph are excited to pitch several diverse Canadian films, including The Guardian, an action-packed Canadian spy thriller and a football documentary American Soldier: A Canadian Story about CFL All-Star Larry Thompson.

In addition, these two Vancouver filmmakers will be shooting their new documentary The Pitch, which will highlight the film industry, insight from industry professionals and their journey to American Film Market as they strive to pitch their projects to key executives and companies.

Recently, British Columbia Pictures released its music documentary Vancity Raps, which showcases Western Canadian hip hop artists including legends like Moka Only, veterans Emotionz and Travis Turner aka Little T, and up-and-comers Benzosa and Baby C.

The documentary won ‘Best Canadian Documentary’ at the Vancouver Independent. Film Festival; ‘Best Soundtrack’ at the Rotterdam Independent Film Festival and was an Official Selection at the Austin Filmmaker Awards.

Vancity Raps is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime.

The American Film Market will be taking place in Las Vegas, from Nov. 6 to 10.
