Local author, Hip Hop artist, festival host, actor, filmmaker and long-time Ladnerite, Daniel Joseph is set to premiere his third feature film.

THE GUARDIAN is a pulsating action-packed thriller about the high-stakes world of espionage.

“This is the Canadian Jason Bourne,” Joseph says, and is excited to now showcase his film at all the major film festivals.

Joseph is a producer for the film, and has a supporting role as politician, Robert Gates.

In addition, he has two new songs which are featured in the film soundtrack.

“It’s been an awesome opportunity to be involved in front of the camera, behind the scenes, and with some of the music for the film,” Joseph adds.

The film’s director and executive producer is Pale Thomas, another South Delta resident, and it is the second project that Joseph and Thomas have collaborated on.

The first was as feature music documentary called Vancity Raps which covers the Vancouver Hip Hop music scene.

“Making this film was the hardest thing I’ve done to date,” Thomas shares.

THE GUARDIAN now enters the international festival circuit, and the two producers will travel to Las Vegas in November for the American Film Market to acquire distribution.

Joseph and Thomas will premiere their film for cast and crew on Saturday, Aug. 3 at The Cinematheque in Vancouver.
