South Delta artists are at their easels and in a creative mood after a lovely summer.

The South Delta Artists Guild presents its new show, opening Oct. 4 at Gallery 1710 in Tsawwassen.

The show is sure to capture those near and faraway places that become dear to our heart.

The Alberta and BC Guide Dogs will be at the gallery on Saturday, Oct. 5. If you are curious to know how these dogs are trained and what their purpose is, now is your chance to get a close look. There is a great need for these animals and their skills benefit many people and become beloved companions.

Also, on hand on Oct. 5, will be featured artist Mary Savage, who will give those interested tips on drawing what’s in front of you. It’s always interesting to see and try new skills.

Her drawing demos will start shortly after noon that day.

When you stop by the gallery, be sure to look at our new artist’s cards and our unframed original paintings, as well as some reproductions. These are great gift ideas.

We also have 2025 calendars painted by the talented members of the Guild.

The calendars feature a nice bright monthly picture to brighten up your life, and all done by local artists.

The Guild’s latest show runs until Oct. 29.

Gallery 1710 is located beside the South Delta Rec Centre (1710, 56th Street) and is open Friday to Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
