The City of Delta is thrilled to announce the early completion of the highly anticipated synthetic turf field and lights replacement project at North Delta Community Park; another project delivered to enhance recreational opportunities for year-round outdoor sports in our community.
Opening three weeks ahead of schedule, the new synthetic turf field is designed to cater to the diverse needs of our active community. It features a shock pad underlay and sports filled lines for full size and mini soccer play areas, two softball diamonds, unified field lacrosse, and field hockey.
The addition of a new lighting system at North Delta Community Park extends the usability of the park well into the evening hours. Designed with energy efficiency in mind, these lights not only illuminate the field for nighttime play but also enhance the park's safety and security, allowing families and individuals to enjoy the space responsibly after sunset.
“The revitalization of North Delta Community Park is a testament to our commitment to providing world-class recreational facilities for our residents,” said Mayor George Harvie in a news release. “These enhancements not only promote physical activity and well-being but also foster a sense of community pride and togetherness. I want to thank all the staff who supported this project and delivered it for our community to enjoy ahead of schedule.”
The City of Delta would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation to the community for its support throughout the renovation process. These upgrades would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including dedicated city staff, local sports organizations, and engaged community members.
As we unveil these enhancements, we invite everyone to come experience the renewed vitality of North Delta Community Park.
