As of yesterday at noon, three candidates had filed their nomination papers at municipal hall for mayor and another 10 for Delta council seats. More are expected to file by today's 4 p.m. deadline.
In the race for the mayor's chair, four-term incumbent Lois Jackson, former councillor Krista Engelland and current councillor Heather King have officially filed. The trio is expected to be joined by Renew Delta's John Meech.
Incumbents Bruce McDonald, Anne Peterson, Ian Paton, Scott Hamilton and Robert Campbell are all running again for council.
Newcomers hoping to win a council seat that have filed include Sylvia Bishop, Scott Broderick, Andrew Conley and Neil Corbett. Former councillor Jeannie Kanakos has also filed.
Other council candidates expected to file are Ranjit Heer, Garth Cuthbert and Fabian Milat.
