Canada's 145th birthday is just around the corner and there are a handful of local events planned to mark the occasion.
If you're looking to get out and celebrate Canada Day on Sunday with others here are a few options:
. In honour of Canada's birthday, the Delta Museum & Archives Society will be spilling out along Delta Street in Ladner Village to host its popular July 1 party.
This family-oriented, fun-filled event kicks off at 9 a.m. with the traditional pancake and sausage breakfast, cooked by the North Delta, Ladner and Scottsdale Lions Clubs. Breakfast will be available for purchase until 11 a.m., with all proceeds this year going to support the Delta Museum & Archives Society's children educational programs.
Official ceremonies will begin at 11 a.m. with the singing of the national anthem and messages from local dignitaries. Morning activities will conclude around noon with the cutting of a giant birthday cake, with enough for everyone to enjoy.
Party attendees will be entertained with toe-tapping, dance-in-the-street music by the Celtic band Doghouse, as well as opportunities to enjoy a fun morning of outdoor crafts, activities and contests. Visit the archives historical display booth to learn about Delta's history. The museum will be open for attendees to explore the three floors of exhibits while kids can join in a museum scavenger hunt to find clues and facts that showcase our Canadian provinces.

. The Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club will once again host a Canada Day party at Diefenbaker Park.
It's estimated over 3,000 people attend the celebration, notes Brad Gaze, one of the organizers with the local Lions Club.
The event gets going at 10 a.m. Kids can enjoy crafts, face painting and balloons as well as music. Those who get hungry can dig in to hotdogs and popcorn. Around 2,500 hotdogs are usually served, notes Gaze.
At 1 p.m. guests will be introduced followed by the singing of O Canada and the cake cutting.
Diefenbaker Park is located at the corner of 56th Street and 1st Avenue in Tsawwassen.
. Kirkland House will again be holding its annual Canada Day Open House from 12 to 4 p.m. on July 1.
Quilters will be in the house while outside fun will include face painting, children's races, Silk Zoo (by Delta Parks, Recreation and Culture), Mike Guichon's tractors and Rick Ruegg's model train railway.
The Delta Police Pipe Band will be performing.

Community Music School will sing O Canada while the Circle of Friends band, singers from the United Entertainers along with Darryl Sherman and friends will also perform.
Local dignitaries from the Corporation of Delta, MLA Vicki Huntington and MP Kerry-Lynne Findlay will be in attendance. Mayor Lois Jackson will collect the annual rent from Kirkland house chair Colin Campbell.
A barbecue will be put on by Alpha Landa Master of Beta Sigma Phi. Proceeds go towards furnishing this popular heritage house.

. Emma Lea Farms will be hosting a Strawberry and Ice Cream fundraiser on Sunday, July 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to celebrate Canada Day. Strawberry milkshakes and a hotdogs will be served with all proceeds going towards the Delta Hospital Foundation.
Emma Lea Farms is located at 2727 Westham Island Road, Ladner.
