?Go Green Delta Book and Film Group, meets at Tsawwassen Library to discuss Behind the Beautiful Forevers, by Katherine Boo on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. Please join in the reading and discussion of this book which journeys into a community of rag-pickers who live cheek by jowl with Mumbai airport.

?The Delta Nats have a casual birding walk, a 'Birds on the Bay' event, on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Boundary Bay Regional Park from 9 a.m. - noon.

Join Tom Bearss and his informal birdwatchers for a 2.5-hour amble. Enjoy the abundance of resident and wintering inhabitants, including shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors, and smaller birds. Bring binoculars if you have them. The outing will end with beverage and snack at historic Cammidge House. Meet: Cammidge House in Boundary Bay Regional Park. ?The South Delta Therapeutic Touch network meets every second Wednesday of the month in Tsawwassen at the Natural Comfort Wellness Centre.

?Canadian Mental Health Association Delta offers a Family Support Group for individuals supporting someone with a mental illness on the second and fourth Wednesday every month: 7 to 9 p.m. The next meeting takes place on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Delta Hospital, 5800 Mountain View Blvd., Ladner (Education Room). We will only be meeting once in December. This group will recommence on Wednesday, Jan. 9. Call CMHA Delta for info at 604-943-1878.

?Create a family tradition - bring your child or grandchild to the annual Christmas Puppet Show at the Tsawwassen Library, 1321A 56th St. on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 3: 30 p.m. Get into the holiday spirit with Santa and his friends, as our puppeteers offer a charming theatre experience to children and accompanying adults alike.

?A Parkinson's Support Group meeting will be held Monday, Dec. 17 from 11 a.m. - 12: 30 p.m. We are a group who either have Parkinson's Disease, or live/help someone who does have PD. We meet the third Monday of each month to talk, learn from each other, encourage each other, or just sit back and listen to those around us. ?The Boundary Bay Quilters Guild invites you to attend our meeting on Tuesday. Dec. 18. Our Christmas social includes the usual Show & Tell plus a special "stash" sale. ?Celebrate a Life - Visit the Harold & Veronica Savage Centre for Supportive Care during the holidays and honour a loved one who has died by placing a tribute on the Celebrate a Life Tree. Volunteers will be at the centre from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday until Dec. 21.

?South Delta Newcomers & Alumni meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at 7: 15 p.m. at the Kiwanis Longhouse at 1710-56th St., Tsawwassen. The club is for all women who have moved to Ladner, Tsawwassen or Point Roberts to introduce you to the community and help you make new friends. ?Walking Group for the Bereaved - Drop-in group Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. at the Centre for Supportive Care (4631 Clarence Taylor Crescent, Ladner). Gentle walk, rain or shine, suitable for people with mobility impairments, followed by refreshments and casual socialization.

SENIORS

?A Christmas concert will be held Friday, Dec. 14, 7 - 9 p.m. at McKee Seniors Recreation Centre, 515547th Ave. Come and enjoy the dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies and many more dances of the Free Flight School of Dance.

Part two will be The McKee Tappers and part three will be Christmas Sing-A-Long.

We will close out the evening with Christmas carols we all love and can join in with. The concert is free.

?There will be a Christmas lunch on Tuesday, Dec.

25 at the McKee Seniors Recreation Centre. Seating at 11 a.m., lunch served at 11: 30 a.m. Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings. Members: $5. Guests: $12. Children under 12: $5. Call 604-946-1411.

?There will be a Christmas Carol Concert on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at St.

David's Anglican Church in Tsawwassen. Join us following the concert for hot apple cider, mulled wine and shortbread. There is no charge for admission.

?Come one, come all! Please join us on Saturday, Dec. 15 for some festive music presented by both the Delta Youth Orchestra's Capriccio Strings and Wind Ensemble. DYO's Capriccio Strings perform at 10 a.m. at the Ladner Pioneer Library, and DYO's Wind Ensemble performs at 1 p.m. at the Tsawwassen Library.

?The Spirit Bear Quest, running until Dec. 31, is an exhibition of photographs by Ursula Easterbrook, documenting her journey to photograph a Spirit Bear in the Great Bear Rainforest of the B.C. central coast, starting in Tsawwassen, driving to Prince Rupert, flying to Hartley Bay and sailing to Bella Bella and then driving home. A reception, with slide show and tall tales, will be held Dec. 11, 7 - 8: 30 p.m. at Tsawwassen Library, 1321A 56th St.

?Delta artist Sanjoy K. Das presents "In Search of the Miraculous" at Tsawwassen Arts Centre until Jan. 7.

Das' show is dedicated to the theme of "Development of Self." He uses vibrant colours and dynamic patterns in all his paintings to express the journey of self-realization.

?There is a call for entry for Delta Arts Council's artShots 2013, an exhibit from Feb. 6 to 13.
