The Delta Police Department is advising residents who are impacted by the nation-wide outage of the Rogers network to use a landline or another network to make an emergency 911 call.

Noting the outage is believed limited only to the Rogers network, and that Rogers is working to rectify the problem, S/Sgt James Sandberg, Public Information Officer, said all other usual processes to contact emergency services are still active and used as normal. This includes non-emergency numbers and online crime reporting of non-urgent concerns.

“In the event a person requires emergency services, 911 can be reached through normal processes outside of the Rogers network. Rogers users should be aware of this temporary outage and its impacts and consider access to phones that are not impacted by this outage,” explained Sandberg.

The massive outage that began early Friday is affecting mobile services and internet connectivity.
