Delta police responded to a report of an alleged stranger around Pinewood Elementary Thursday morning.
In a message to parents from the school principal, police were present as a precaution following a report of a stranger in the area.
When the person was seen by school staff, he left the area.
Police reportedly investigated the situation and it was resolved quickly.
“Our staff and Delta Police take all reports that are of concern very seriously. The safety of our students and the community are of paramount importance. At no time today were any of our students at risk,” the notice states.
In November, students and staff at the North Delta elementary school were ordered to shelter in place after a report of a person with a weapon in Watershed Park, close enough for some students to view.
That incident turned out to be a teen with a tool and no charges were laid, according to Delta police at the time.
