Recently, Delta police spotted an accident waiting to happen and pulled over the vehicle to keep things from getting a whole lot worse.

Police said on Facebook that one of their officers stopped a dump truck filled with an unsecured load of dirt, gravel and concrete.

After giving the driver a $506 fine, police also required that the load be properly secured before the truck moved again.

“Securing loads properly not only prevents accidents but also saves lives. Let’s all do our part to keep our roads safe for everyone,” police said.

Commercial vehicle safety is a key pillar of the department’s strategy to keep everyone on Delta roads safe, said police.
