The Delta Police Department is developing its next strategic plan.
Aimed at helping guide the organization over the next five years, the new plan is to be completed this fall.
Having undergone community consultations, it will replace the current plan which spanned 2018 to 2022.
Police Chief Neil Dubord told the Delta Police Board last week themes have been put together that will be brought to the board for consideration.
“We’re well on the way to being able to meet our goal which was to, by fall, have a new strategic plan which would take us into 2022 and beyond, so that process is underway,” he said.
Dubord also told the board that of the 64 new people now in training at the Justice Institute to become police officers, eight are Delta recruits.
After 14 weeks at the Institute, they will be in Delta this fall to begin their field training.
