A major street improvement is planned for a residential street in Delta, part of a series of big street projects by the city.
Council recently gave the go-ahead to award a $2.5 million contract for improvements on 114th Street between 92A and 96 avenues.
Part of the city’s Neighbourhood Road Improvement Program, the work includes roadway widening, curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, bike lanes, drainage improvements, crosswalk and bus stop improvements as well as ornamental street lighting along 114th Street.
Delta’s capital plan for 2020 also had several other projects identified road improvement program including work on Ladner Trunk Road between 64th Street and Anderson Place, intersection improvements at 53rd Street and 28th Avenue, a new sidewalk along Cliveden Avenue from the BCIT Campus to Eaton Way and along Hopcott Road south of Tilbury Road, as well as sidewalk replacement along 12th Avenue west of 56th Street and along Bridge Street within Ladner Village.
The city so far hasn't indicated the projects would be delayed or cancelled due to the pandemic situation.
