Let’s head back to January of 1971 when a rare feat in the sport of curling was achieved.

A rarity in the game is when a match continues to a maximum eight ends. It is supposedly as rare as a hole-in-one in the game of golf.

Corby’s Distilleries Ltd. figured the feat deserved recognition. So, when an eight-ender was played at the Tunnel Town Curling Club in Delta, the club promptly decided to apply for the award offered by the distillery.

The Peter Loiselle rink of the Thursday Men’s League was presented with a trophy and a pin for each member.
