Let’s head back to May of 1967 when Rex, a lion cub, visited Magee’s TV & Appliance Store at the Ladner Plaza Shopping Centre as part of a store promotional campaign. Rex had also visited the store three months earlier.
Coming to Ladner in 1947, Ed Magee and his wife Doreen opened their first store on Elliot Street, called Ladner Auction Mart.
He also opened furniture stores throughout the Lower Mainland.
He moved his Ladner business around a couple of times over the subsequent years.
