Monday was a busy day for Delta Police who removed four impaired drivers off Delta roads.
DPD says the first driver was reported mid-morning, after nearly hitting another driver multiple times. Officers thankfully caught up to that driver just as they were merging onto Highway 99.
“Another impaired driver spotted our officer, and tried to double back to avoid him. (He also swerved over the lanes, and tried to stop at a green light....so he didn't get too far.)
And officers also dealt with an "N" driver, who showed signs of intoxication, but refused to blow into an Approved Screening Device,” said DPD on a post on their Facebook page. “Before the tow truck left with his vehicle, that driver reached in to grab his bottle of whiskey....
“If you suspect someone is driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol, call 9-1-1 and let the call taker know the vehicle description, location and direction of travel. And we'll make sure to keep our vehicles stocked with plenty of fresh tubes for the Approved Screening Device.”
