Delta-Richmond area employers are expecting an active hiring climate in the region during the third quarter this year, according to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook survey.

The survey data shows that 27 per cent of employers plan to hire for the upcoming quarter (July to September), while three per cent anticipate cutbacks. Another 67 per cent of employers plan to maintain their current staffing levels and three per cent are unsure of their hiring intentions for the coming months.

"[The] third quarter Net Employment Outlook of 24 per cent is a decrease from the outlook of 32 per cent, which was reported for the previous quarter," said Jeff Polkinghorne of Manpower's Vancouver office. "It is also a four percentage point increase from the Outlook reported during the same time last year, indicating an optimistic hiring pace for the upcoming months."
