The Christmas season gets into full swing this weekend thanks to a number of events in Ladner and Tsawwassen.

The Ladner Business Association kicks things off tonight with the annual tree lighting at 7 p.m. at the corner of 48th Avenue and Delta Street.

It will be followed a children's parade to Ladner Harbour, where the community will welcome the carol ships.

The ships will make a return visit tomorrow at 7: 30 p.m.

The holiday festivities continue tomorrow with the LBA's annual Breakfast with Santa, which runs from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Ladner Community Centre.

In Tsawwassen on Saturday, the Town Centre Mall hosts Wake Up Santa at 10 a.m. Youngsters can help wake St. Nick from his slumber and then have photos taken with him.

Also in Tsawwassen tomorrow, the Business Improvement Association and the Tsawwassen Shopping Centre will host the fourth annual Courtyard Christmas, which will feature five community choirs performing from 3 to 5 p.m.
