According to the BC Centre for Disease Control’s latest numbers, Delta’s vaccination rate was at 84 per cent for residents 12 and older as of June 28. That’s the fifth highest for individual communities in B.C.

Delta residents starting today can get their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine without making a prior appointment.

Fraser Health announced that the clinic at the North Delta Recreation Centre (11415 84 Ave.) is accepting walk-ins for first dose vaccinations, an initiative taking place across the region aimed at getting more people who have not gotten a shot vaccinated.

It’s open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The FHA also notes anyone 12 and up is welcome and no personal health number is needed.

According to the health region’s website, walk-ins are now also available at the South Delta clinic (4470 Clarence Taylor Cres.).

It’s open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
