*Dec. 5, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported that they were concerned they had been the victim of fraud while attempting to renew their Nexus card. Complainant was charged $175 on their credit card, on a website which appeared not to be associated with the Canadian Border Services Nexus program. Police investigated the website and found it to be a legitimate third-party company, which assists with Nexus applications and renewals. Police suggested the complainant cancel their credit card if they were concerned their personal information may have been sold to a third-party, and to contact CBSA to confirm their application had been submitted by the third-party company.

*Dec. 6, 1 Ferry Causeway:  Complainant reported that their purse was stolen while on a vessel. The purse contained bank and credit cards, a passport, Compass card, and a small amount of cash. The bag also contained an Air Tag, which allowed the purse to be traced to a dump in Burnaby. Investigation found the Compass card had been used several times, but banking cards were not compromised. Police recommended the complainant cancel all bank cards and advise Passport Canada of the stolen passport. The passport was added to the Canadian Police Information Centre as stolen.

*Dec. 7, 5300 Block of Upland Drive: Complainant reported that their electric bike had been stolen from their garage. The complainant advised police that they had likely left the garage door open by accident, which gave the suspect the opportunity to steal the bike.  The bike is described as a Vado SL valued at $5,800. Police suggested the complainant check on-line resale sites for the stolen e-bike and report any information to the police.

*Dec. 9, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business in the mall reported a theft in progress. Police liaised with mall security who had located two suspects near the food court. The suspects were searched, and stolen items were found from several stores to a total value of $250. Due to the lack of documented history of the suspects, and the low value of the goods, the complainants did not wish charges laid. The suspects were released without charges, and both parties were given a one-year civil ban to the mall and escorted off the premises.

*Dec. 4, 7900 Block of Alexander Road: Complainant reported the theft of their white, 2016 Volvo Tractor Truck from the yard of their business. The business provided surveillance video, which showed two individuals, with their faces covered, entering the yard, and taking the truck. The business reported they also had two trailers stolen which they believe had occurred using the stolen Volvo. A couple of days later, the Surrey RCMP notified the complainant that the truck had been recovered.

*Dec. 5, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported that a suspect attempted to activate a bank account in the complainant’s name with a fake Ontario ID. The suspect created the account on-line, and then attempted to activate the account in person. When the suspect was asked by the bank for their identification, they fled the bank.  The suspect is described as a male, 6 feet tall, short brown hair in a small ponytail, wearing a black and yellow puffy jacket. The incident is still under investigation.

*Dec. 5, 7500 Block of Vantage Place: Complainant reported the theft of their GMC box truck from a repair business. Surveillance video shows the suspect entering the cab of the truck and driving away. The truck was later discovered abandoned in Surrey. Police will examine surveillance video and attempt to identify the suspect.

*Dec. 9, 4800 Block of Linden Drive: Police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle, and on suspicion the driver had consumed alcohol, requested breath samples. The two samples provided by the driver both read ‘fail.’ As a result, the driver was given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition, and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver left the area on foot.
