Some impressive artwork was recognized by Delta council this week as winners of the 2022 Community Banner Design Contest.
It’s an annual competition for residents of Delta to create a street banner that will raise awareness of Delta’s natural beauty, culture, diversity, and heritage as well as engage the community and showcase local artists. Winners of the upcoming 2023 contest will be announced in early 2024.
The winning design from each category will be displayed on City of Delta street banners the following year. An honorarium and a street banner with the winner’s design will be awarded to each winner.
Thanking everyone who entered the contest, Mayor George Harvie at council’s meeting this week, said he has a great feeling when seeing the banners, which highlight the beauty of the community.
