Highway 17 is closed southbound after a truck lost its load Monday around lunch time just south of municipal hall.
Southbound traffic was stopped at Ladner Trunk Road and forced to divert through Ladner to get to Tsawwassen and the Tsawwassen ferry terminal.
Long lines of traffic could be seen on Arthur Drive and 44th Avenue as drivers attempted to get around the accident.
Police were not immediately available to provide details of the accident.
