It's a wrap at mall

The Canadian Cancer Society and local businesses will be helping Santa out this holiday season by wrapping presents at the Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall.

"We were so pleased to be approached by the Tsawwassen Business Improvement Association and the Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall about taking on the gift wrap station this year, but we were concerned about finding enough volunteers," said Canadian Cancer Society representative Nicola Romaniuk.

"We asked local Tsawwassen businesses to step up and help us out and we were so thrilled to have many community-minded businesses come forward to help us with this fundraiser," Romaniuk said.

Sunlife Financial, Envision Financial, Westland Insurance, Vancity, Nurse Next Door and Thrifty Foods have all come forward to support the gift wrapping initiative with volunteers and product in the spirit of the season.

The Canadian Cancer Society Gift Wrap Station will be open for wrapping by suggested donation on Dec. 17 and Dec. 21 to 23, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The final day of wrapping will be Christmas Eve, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., but come early to avoid disappointment.

Donations for every present wrapped go toward the Canadian Cancer Society's support services, including programs for individuals seeking cancer information, emotional support and camps for youth and families.
