Letters: A ban is a start to reducing our carbon footprint

If we are really serious about reducing our carbon footprint this is a start.

Your readers should know that there is lots of information about the amount of pollution gas powered lawn mowers, and outdoor tools produce.

I think many people are unaware. According to the Freedonia Group gas powered outdoor equipment emits significant amounts of noise, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and volatile organic compounds (VOC).

As well as being inefficient, running a gas lawn mower for an hour is equivalent to driving a new car 550 km.

If we are really serious about reducing our carbon footprint this is a start.
